About the event

Faqs

A competition where you are challenged to work on a real-world case from different areas of Machine Learning, AI, and Data Science.

The teams have 48 hours to come up with a solution to a real challenge based on the provided datasets. The jury and the society will award the most precise, but also creative solutions.

• Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions that damage the optic nerve, and it is one of the leading causes of blindness. It is estimated that 3.3 million people suffer from glaucoma in the US alone

• An early detection of the glaucoma is crucial for an optimistic prognosis. However, traditional detection methods are expensive and limitedly available.

• It is hypothesized that AI methods could revolutionize the glaucoma field by providing cheap and widely available detection tools, from which millions of patients could benefit from

• In this contest, you will be given 650 retinal images from both glaucoma and healthy patients. The challenge is then building a machine learning solution able to automatically classify the images in glaucoma and non-glaucoma

The event will have a maximum of 50 participants in teams of 5 people (10 teams). All members of the winning team will receive a prize
